Scatterplot graphs may not mean much to most people,
but to an educated statistician, or a trained psychoanalyst,
a scatterplott graph can tell a person much more than meets
the eye. A scatterplot graph allows us to take two separate
sets of data, and use a graph to compare and contrast them.
If one wanted to show the correlation between two different
test scores, they could simply plot the scores on the graph,
and either

normal average. Things tend to regress
from the unusual, to the more usual. Scatterplot graphs
allow us to notice this very easily.
Psychoanalysts and statisticians use scatterplot graphs
to do many things. Finding out the correlation between two
things would be very difficult without a scatterplot graph
because it would be very hard to notice a slight likeness
between the two things. This is why scatterplots are
important, and why they are used.
