What is a Human Being? There are three main viewpoints in argument on what a human being is. Those viewpoints are empirical, rational and metaphorical. Empiricists base their views on observation and experimentation. Rationalists rely on reason as the best guide for belief and action. …If I have faith in God I am promised a place in heaven. By believing in the metaphorical perspective one is taught to have high moral standards, compassion, generosity and integrity. Even though I believe that we will not be able to discover which of the viewpoints is positively correct in determining what a human being is, I will heed to the metaphorical viewpoint as it makes me a better person both morally and spiritually.
