Symbolism and themes are difficult to infer in a text, but understanding these literary elements makes the book more interesting and entertaining for the reader. As you can tell there is a lot of symbolism and themes in "The Giver" with all the hidden meanings of the names and the life long lessons that it shares with you. But my all time favorite part of the book was the part at the end where Jonas and Gabriel ............. Well I guess you will have to read it to find out what I am talking about.
