Twelve Peace College students and two communication department professors traveled to New York last month to participate in an advertising career conference and to get a close-up look at various communication industries.
The group left Nov. 8 for the 45th Annual Advertising Career Conference, sponsored by the Advertising Women of New York and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Dr. Teresa Holder, a communication professor at Peace, commented on the importance of this experience: "I wanted the students to know that everything I have been telling them in class is absolutely true, to see the importance of working in groups, doing the informational interviews that I have asked them to do this semester, to see the bigger picture of public relations and to learn the importance of reading the newspaper everyday."
