way doesn't mean they will act a certain way. Shrek is an ogre but he does not act like a stereotypical ogre. Basically the film is trying to say- 'you cannot judge a book by its cover.'
All in all this film is very well made and has been enjoyed by millions, thanks to the makers' use of shots and devices. It is successful in getting its point across and is a fantastic film.
