…is the evilest character in Shakespeare's play. While his wife Lady Macbeth is the chief motivation in his destructive behavior in the beginning, it is not so throughout the whole play. Macbeth acts separately from his wife when he plans the murders of Banquo and Macduff's family. Lady Macbeth is proven to be conscience-stricken and not as evil as her earlier actions would infer. Even with spiteful and villainous characters, Macbeth is a great play.
