The appeasement encouraged Hitler greatly, and with the unfair treaty terms on his mind he moved with much force to gain lebensraum. Hitler was offensively a very threatening and violent power, but lack of defence presented by Britain and France encouraged Hitler to rebel against the harsh treaty terms and gain more and more lebensraum.
