Although we have come a long way from the days of slavery, racial equality is still far from prevalent in American society. Some people still have a hard time accepting people of other races as "true Americans" and stereotypes which reduce people to the color of their skin still remain in people's minds. order to instill a respect for all people into children while they are young. It's a wonderful notion, however it doesn't do any good when it's still in the conceptual stages and nothing is being done to speed its implementation.
