Jake and Jesus Shuttlesworth in this film. Cinematography, mise en scene, editing, and sound all play parts in helping the audience understand the complexity of the conflict between the film's two main characters. I believe that the relationship between Jake and Jesus was the primary focus of the film and I think that Spike Lee has shown a great deal of versatility as a director by doing so much to make that relationship more powerful.
