If a teacher elects to give an entire class an A whether or not they show up, is that his or her prerogative? Or is it dishonest, educationally destructive and morally wrong? In many cases, ethics and morality are hard to define and left up to personal choice. In others, it is quite clear as to what is right and what is wrong. In this case, not only do I believe the actions of the teacher were deceptive and misleading, I believe they are destructive to the whole system of grading and are very immoral.
