Wilfred Owen's "Dulce et Decorum est" clearly portrays the true identity of war. …saying is finished in the 4th stanza; Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori. This saying translates into the following idea: It is sweet and right to die for ones country. But clearly to Owen this is a 'lie' and to him the war is not linked to a patriotic act. In more detail the last line of the poem supports this idea, "The old Lie: Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori."
