Poverty and Crime What causes crime? Does poverty cause crime? Or does crime cause poverty? Some feel that poverty causes crime. Whereas in India you are taught from birth that you do not have the same opportunities as higher class people therefore there is less crime. There are many different perspectives on poverty and crime. In some ways you can see how poverty does cause crime but in other ways you can not find a correlation. It all depends on what perspective you buy into.
