Capitalism is defined as an economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market. Most anti-war protestors attribute the capitalist state to war and most social ills in the world. the survival of their state and protection of their property, not with warfare. Capitalism does not cause war. The definition I have offered of militarism is a much safer one. In addition, militarism does not cause war either. Due to the success provided by capitalism, countries must be ready to protect their property. This readiness to defend a state's property, can not be obscured to mean that countries see war as a "desirable social activity."
