The society in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley shares many of the same traits as a totalitarian society. In this essay I will be describing the traits of totalitarianism and which of these traits are shared by the Brave New World. I also included some of my thoughts and opinions on why these types of governments are not successful and what can be learned from them.

succeed. The Brave New World is considered a totalitarian government because it contains all the traits that define totalitarianism. It has control over the public's beliefs, and all aspects of daily life. They have a caste system and a dictator which are both characteristics of totalitarianism. The most obvious example is that the Brave New World focuses on becoming perfect. Excellence is the absolute goal and they are achieving what they believe to be perfection.
