I was born when Ike was President and we had a portrait of Ike at home when I was a small child. And I learned how to read when I was two years old, so one of my earliest memories is of looking at that portrait of Ike, with his words written at the bottom:

I was born in Ike's time, still rather young, but so very different from all the new Visigoths born just a few years after me.....the MTV/Playstation generation who have NO personal contacts with any of the last few thousand years of civilization, unless some of them might be wise enough to talk to some of the older people, talk to their grandparents, while they still have the chance...
