Treatment for dissociative identity disorder includes recalling what triggered the disorder and neutralizing it by confronting and controlling it. Hypnosis and anti-depressant drugs are also used. Dissociative identity disorder has many of the same characteristics as post-traumatic stress disorder, especially in regards to cause and treatment.
